Information handled by the app
Regexcellent works on your device. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, purchases, or cloud sync. The app does not transmit your patterns, sample text, lesson activity, or settings to the publisher or to other services.
Local storage and retention
The app stores completed lessons and challenges, practice days and streaks, saved patterns, unfinished Playground patterns and sample text, matching flags, onboarding state, and reminder preferences in its local app storage. This information remains there until you change or remove it, clear the app's data, or remove the storage through your operating system. There is no server copy held by the app publisher.
You can delete saved patterns in the app. This does not erase all progress or unfinished Playground work. On Android, clearing the app's storage in system settings removes the app's local data; uninstalling normally removes it too. The Android app excludes its data from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.
On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app normally removes its local container; offloading keeps its data. iCloud or computer backups may retain earlier copies. On Mac, removing the application may leave its sandbox container, preferences, and backups on disk. Backups such as Time Machine are managed through the operating system. You control those copies; restoring a backup may restore app data. Contact support if you need help removing local data. The publisher cannot remotely erase information stored only on your devices or in your backups.
Optional notifications
If you enable a practice reminder, Regexcellent asks for notification permission where required and schedules a local notification. No push-notification server receives your practice information. You can disable reminders in Progress or in system notification settings. Exact delivery time depends on the operating system.
Clipboard and exports
Copying a pattern or generated code places the selected content on your system clipboard. You choose whether to paste or share it elsewhere. Your operating system and any destination you choose govern what happens to that copied information.
Support and website visits
If you email support, the publisher and its email provider receive your email address and the information you choose to send. It is used to answer your request and maintain necessary support correspondence, and is deleted when no longer needed unless retention is required. Do not send passwords, payment details, or private production data in sample patterns or screenshots.
Opening a website link in the app uses your system browser and requires an internet connection. The app's no-transmission behavior does not mean that visiting its website is anonymous. regexcellent.app is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and request times to deliver and secure the website. Provider processing and retention depend on the applicable service configuration and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy; no fixed provider-log retention period is promised. The publisher does not add analytics, advertising trackers, tracking cookies, a contact form, or a mailing list to this site. If these practices change, this policy will be updated.
Children
The app does not transmit information about its users, including children. If you believe a child sent personal information in a support request, contact the publisher so the correspondence can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.
Privacy requests and changes
Contact the publisher through the support address shown on this page with privacy questions or requests concerning support correspondence. Depending on your location, applicable law may provide rights concerning personal information the publisher holds. Data used only inside the app stays under your control on your device.
The policy will be updated before adding collection, accounts, sync, advertising, or purchase functionality. The effective date identifies the current version.
