Free app

The current version of Regexcellent is free to download and use. It has no subscriptions, in-app purchases, advertisements, or user accounts. Your internet or device provider may charge for services you use to download the app, obtain updates, visit websites, or contact support. These terms do not authorize any future charge or recurring payment.

Permission to use the app

You may install and use a legitimately obtained copy on devices you own or control, for personal learning or lawful professional practice, subject to the applicable store's rules. The app's code, artwork, and original learning content remain the property of their respective rights holders. These terms do not grant permission to sell or redistribute the app or substantial portions of its learning content. Rights granted by third-party licences and rights that applicable law gives you remain unaffected.

You retain your rights in patterns, sample text, and other material you enter. You may use and adapt code snippets generated for you by the app; the publisher claims no ownership of your input. You remain responsible for any third-party rights in the material you use.

Learning and generated code

Regexcellent is a learning and experimentation tool. Regular-expression engines differ, and the app intentionally limits input and execution to help keep it responsive. Explanations, matches, lesson feedback, and generated code may contain errors or differ from another runtime. Review and test patterns and exported code against your actual requirements before using them, particularly with sensitive data or in production systems. No result is a guarantee of security, completeness, or suitability for a particular purpose.

Your device and data

The app keeps progress, saved patterns, and preferences locally. There is no publisher-operated account or cloud recovery service. Removing app storage or changing devices can lose local data; system backup behavior differs by platform. See the Privacy Policy for storage, backups, reminders, clipboard use, website hosting, and support correspondence.

Lawful use

Use the app and website lawfully. Do not attempt to compromise the website or use either service to infringe another person's rights. You are responsible for having permission to use the text or other material you enter, copy, or share.

Availability and changes

Availability depends on your device, operating-system version, country, and distribution channel. Features and compatibility may change in later releases. There is no promise of uninterrupted website availability, a particular support response time, or updates for every future operating system. Changes to these terms will be published here with a revised effective date. They do not retrospectively remove rights you already have under applicable law.

Warranties and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and website are provided as available, without additional promises beyond their stated functionality. Nothing in these terms excludes a mandatory warranty, consumer remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct. Your mandatory rights and access to competent courts remain unaffected; these terms impose no mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver.

Store terms

The rules and licence terms of the store from which you obtain the app also apply. For copies obtained through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a separate custom EULA is explicitly supplied through that store. These website terms do not replace Apple's standard EULA or narrow any rights granted by the applicable store terms or mandatory law.
